An exciting night with futurist Jason Silva at the Vogue. If you’ve been reading this little blog for a while, you’d know that I’m a fan of Jason Silva’s Shots of Awe videos. My all-time favourite being The Biological Advantage of being Awestruck.
At this inspirational masterclass presentation, Jason Silva talked about how to improve productivity, creativity and wellbeing through awe and wonder, how to tap into flow states in order to create abundance, and how to attract aligned and empowered people into your life.
It was like watching a live episode of various Shots of Awe videos, with Silva free-styling about futurism, technology, creativity, the science of awe, disruptive innovation, relationships, mental health, human existence and the existential bummer. Silva is an amazing and captivating speaker and storyteller.
Silva kicked off his Hack Your Reality tour in Vancouver, live-streaming the event for fans who were unable to attend. The evening was divided into 3 parts: masterclass with Jason Silva, a consciousness discussion and Q+A, plus a VIP meet and greet – which I had a ticket for!
Fans who purchased a gold level ticket were all ushered upstairs at the theatre and were able to chat and take photos with Jason. When it was my turn, we chatted about the annual TED Talks that takes place in Vancouver, which he attends every year. Like a dork, I also told him which one of his Shots of Awe videos was my favourite and how I was thrilled when he incorporated that into his talk, along with the video.
He is such a nice guy – giving hugs freely, taking pictures and making sure everyone was able to chat with him and feel like they had his attention.
I was mucho thrilled to meet him – as you can probably tell. As a fan, it’s always a fear that someone whom you admire doesn’t live up to your expectations, but Jason Silva is super chill and friendly. So happy to have met him and shared a few words.
