Day Job

Rigged Out

vancouver opera's production of rigoletto
I’m so bloody exhausted.

After the 9-5 workday, I headed straight to Queen Elizabeth Theatre to live tweet our dress rehearsal of Rigoletto tonight until almost 11pm.

I was authorized all access: from going into the “crying booth” with the assistant director, learning about surtitles in the tech booth, hanging out in hair and make up department, as well as, the warm up room with the supernumeraries.

Check out my escapades on Vancouver Opera’s Twitter feed.

I LOVED this production of Rigoletto. I think it’s my favourite opera this season so far.

And the best part was finding out that my tweets made other tweeps following us excited about our opera.

Some of the instantaneous @ replies to us:

That was freakin amazing!!

Loving the play-by-play!
La donna e mobile is my lucky song, play it before all important events/exams etc!! in fact I’m gonna play it now.

I am liking the live tweets.
Sounds great. Looking forward to seeing the show.

Makes all the long hours worthwhile and I’m thu-rilled people are loving what we’re doing. Because I sure am! Best job in the world!
