Cue John Williams, his orchestra and the Star Wars’ opening crawl. Today, we went on a geeky pilgrimage to Lucas Films headquarters after walking the Golden Gate Bridge. All to see the Yoda fountain statue.

One good thing about living in the suburbs of San Francisco is that it’s that much closer to Silicon Valley. And easier to get to.
Whereas my brothers didn’t have an itinerary of where they wanted to go or what they wanted to do, I wanted to indulge the geek in me and check out NASA’s Ames Research Center or rather their visitor center, which is open to the public. So everyone piled into 2 cars and we made our way to Mountain View.

For me, it’s been 6 years. For my mom, probably 15 years. For my one of my brothers, over 30 years. That’s how long it’s been since we visited relatives in San Francisco.
Unlike some families that do reunions on the regular, to get us all in one place, at one time, was quite the feat. Even with cousin’s weddings in the past, one, two or all of us might not have been able to attend. But the timing was right – with availability and means – that we were going to be a part of the thirty or so strong reunion slash wedding.

Yet another reason why I love Twitter over Facebook or any other platform. You never know who’s listening. And who’s going to reach out to you.
I posted a photo of my return trip from Seattle via Amtrak to my Twitter and Instagram and was pleasantly surprised that, not only did Amtrak tweet me a compliment, but they also asked for my permission to use my image. How flattering. Of course, I said yes.

I wonder where my photo will turn up? Perhaps on their website, blog, social media or print? I shall have to keep my peepers open.
