Puppy Love

When I was about 9, my dad brought home a German shepherd puppy. My brothers and I named the puppy, Roy. Unfortunately, my mom was none to pleased and had my dad return the puppy after a week, despite our pleading and protesting. It was quite heartbreaking and something that has stayed with me all these years.

One day (soon), I’d like to have a puppy in the house.

This picture was taken July 2007 when I went to England. I had just got off a 9 hour plane ride, hardly slept a wink and my body clock was 8 hours behind. I was rapidly succumbing to jet lag, which explains why I look absolutely rough in this picture. But I’ll post it because even though I look haggard, I was so very happy that my friend’s dog, who I met for the first time, took to me.

Right after this pic, I crashed for like, 5 hours.

Hello Thirty-******

I’m not sure who slipped the feel good drug into my morning OJ, but I’m feeling pretty optimistic about my birthday today. After lunch, I took this photobooth picture at Pacific Centre to mark this year’s very special milestone.

Also, the sun was out, spring and the cherry blossoms are almost here and Sean’s taking me to back to the future tonight at Scotiabank theatre’s digital film fest.

It’s been a good day.

Shizuka’s Baby Shower

No surprise at my age, most of my friends are either having babies, trying to have babies or struck with a case of baby fever. It’s hard not to get all broody, when you’re surrounded by bundles of adorable-ness. We threw a shower for second time around mommy, Shizuka this weekend. She didn’t get a shower the first time around, (apparently there’s no such thing as baby showers in Japan), so we made dang sure she was celebrated this time.

The Arrival Of Interpol

interpol band
Interpol kicked off their North American tour in Vancouver last night. (yay us!)

I met up with Kristina, Brian and Erik at the Orpheum Theatre. We weren’t sitting together though. I was row 12 orchestra and they were seated up in the balcony. I must admit, I initially had reservations about the concert being at the Orpheum because of the seats. This is a rock concert. Was everyone expected to stay in their seats?

2010: A Retrospective

Are we here already?

Wowzers, another year’s gone by. I can’t believe time went by so fast. 2010 was pretty wonderful to me. Thank you to everyone who made my year so memorable. I would like to take this opportunity to remember the highlights from this past year. (a tradition I started in 2009)

Drum roll please.
