The Art Of Tweet

Yet another reason why I love Twitter. I’ve been a big fan of David Usher since the Moist days. I remember seeing the band play one of the first gigs at the Town Pump, way back in 1993.  And what’s more, I continued to follow his career, as he evolved into a solo artist and a technology speaker.

I had gone to The Art of Leadership seminar when it was in town in April. It was an inspired day of learning and I enjoyed it. But what I really wish I could’ve done was attend The Art of Marketing seminar in Toronto. Not only a fantastic line-up of speakers, but I would’ve want to hear David Usher talk about creative change, innovation and inspiration.

So when I found out that he had been a guest speaker, I tweeted it. And was super duper, pleasantly surprised to get a tweet back. With anyone in the spotlight, be it actors, musicians, authors et al., I don’t really expect a response back. I am just one of the hundreds, if not thousands, of people that celebrity artists can choose to tweet with everyday.

And so, I put forth my tweet out into the Twitterverse because I’m happy to, especially when I’m excited about what they’re doing or how much I enjoyed their concert. And it always makes my day when they can take the time to tweet back.
