A Night at the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier

To mix things up, we treated ourselves to a night away at the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier in North Vancouver. This would be our first overnight stay since the start of the pandemic.

We usually stick downtown and have enjoyed our stays at Hyatt Regency, Shangri-la, Rosewood Hotel Georgia, L’Hermitage, Loden Hotel, and the Pan Pacific Vancouver, but the Pinnacle’s promotion of a superior harbourview king with private balcony plus $25 on-site dining certificate was hard to pass up.

Besides the killer view of the Burrard Inlet and of downtown, we never really had the chance to explore Lonsdale Quay and The Shipyards together. And since it’s still pandemic times, we veto’d downtown for the more spacious North Shore.

A couple of features the Pinnacle at the Pier had that the rooms we stayed in downtown didn’t have (either not available at the hotel or it was out of our price range to stay in): glass wall separating the bathroom and bedroom, and private balcony – especially nice on a hot September night.

Some pics of North Van stay:

A little in-room dining. A little swim in the not so crowded pool. A little overnighter. And hopefully not the last staycation during the pandemic.
