Waiting for the Day When I Can Travel Again

I did not get on a plane this year. But luckily, I did get to go on a ferry for a weekend getaway and overnighted at hotels around town.

A couple of those staycations I went by myself. And it was pretty damn glorious. That’s not to say I don’t like traveling with someone. I do. But the alone time proved crucial to my mental + emotional health, which took a swan dive this past year.

To prioritize + nurture my well-being, I turned off the noise. From taking a hiatus from all the socials, focusing only on feel good. stories, exercising + meditating several times a week, and setting boundaries with the peeps in my life.

I put myself first. Because if I fall apart, everything around me falls apart.

As an introvert-leaning (INFP) hodophile itching to get back to seeing the world, solo staycations have helped me quiet my mind, improve my outlook, deal with cabin fever, and given me the time + space to re-set so that I can go back to being a better me for my loved ones.

Really hoping 2022 gets better and I can finally jet off to somewhere.
