Going Back In Time

opera america invites
Now that my presentation is done, I can relax and enjoy me some LA, conference and invites!

Dinner was at Taipan Chinese restaurant at the Wells Fargo Centre. It was fun chatting with the ladies around me who hailed from Fort Worth Opera, Nashville Opera, Virginia Opera and New Century Chamber Orchestra, but the real fun to be had was apres dinner.

Day Job

Hi. My name is…

Public speaking can be pretty nerve-racking.

I’ve presented a 20 minute powerpoint on Twitter 101 at my all-staff meeting at work.

I’ve spoken for 2.5 hours (I was scheduled for only an hour) on social media 101 to a roomful of strangers, when an old teacher of mine asked me to guest speak at one of her fundraising marketing classes.

Tapas At Hapa

After a futile effort to try to buy a kitty harnass for Jonesy, so that we can take her outside, Sean and I had dinner at Hapa Izakaya in Kits.

We had the sashimi salad, ebi mayo and the seared scallops. It was a bit pricey, but oh my goodness, was it ever yum! Definitely got what we paid for.

And the topper to this loverly dinner and my 2 week staycation?

Home made creme brulee ,with blueberry garnish and sliced almonds.

Peggy and I got our Honger on and spent the whole Saturday doing Honger stuff. She even got me posing in those Japanese photo booths; taking cutesy “kawaii” pictures. I couldn’t help myself though. The horns came out instead of the cliche double victory hands.

Fun girl time included shopping at Aberdeen Centre and Parker Place, eating dinner at a Hong Kong cafe and then heading to the Summer Night Market.

Nearly 8 hours of shopping, eating, shopping and more eating. We are ladies of leisure, dontcha know?

Sooner Or Later, Everybody Goes To The Zoo

Hippo!

That was Sean’s reaction upon seeing hippos at the Vancouver Zoo this past weekend.

The zoo has around 600 animals spread out on 120 acres of land. Before Sean and I knew it, three hours had passed by, we were enjoying ourselves so much. Going to the zoo was our opportunity to let loose our inner child. I got a real kick watching Sean’s face light up, as he came across animals he’s never seen before in real life.
