Springtime is my favourite time of year. Sunshine, the herald of warmer weather, cherry blossom trees and when I got together with this fella.
Happy 7th anniversary, babe. SEVEN! Love you.

Animals inside out. At first, I wasn’t sure if it could handle it. I thought that I might just walk out after a few steps, a few minutes. I even asked the staff member if anyone’s ever walked out or felt ill by what they saw. And not that it alleviated my concerns, she simply said “Yes, lots.”
I’m talking about the Animal Inside Out exhibition at Science World.

TED is in town this week and last night the Pan Pacific hosted a special private reception and dinner for the delegates. Here’s a a look at our set up in our oceanview rooms.

The only thing I wanted to do for my birthday was to have a soak at Scandinaive Spa in Whistler. It’s funny because I’ve never really thought of myself as a hot spring kind of person. I don’t like feeling uncomfortably hot. Being submerged in the jacuzzi at the neighbourhood pool or enclosed in a sauna is not my idea of a good time.
But ever since Harrison Hot Springs and the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, I can really appreciate the relaxing ritual. It also helps if it’s outdoors and in a nature setting.

We finally got to go see Van Dusen Botanical Garden’s Festival of Lights! Every year, we say we’re going to see it, and every year we get so hella busy (erm, holiday season), that it’s over before we get to it. Or that we’re too exhausted from other commitments, that we would take the downtime than driving into town.
But not this year. With a little extension from the gardens, the crowd-pleasing festival of lights were held over until 3rd week of January. And yes, it’s technically not Christmas anymore, but when it’s dark and gloomy January, one could resurrect those holiday sprits with a little bright lights.

Every year, the same observation. That time moves way too fast. but in 2015, I packed a lot in. Also, new career path. Not just one job, but two new ones! Plus travel near and far! Overall, 2015 was pretty awesome and laid the foundation for more personal and professional growth.
Let’s rewind and reflect…

Merry Christmas from everyone here at Casa de Sullichan!

Things I thought I’d never see/know about, were it not for my job:
Chest tubes and anchoring sutures being removed, cough pillows, happy face non-skid socks, sternum wire cutters (it’s EXACTLY how it sounds), emergency pacemakers to pace patients and give them higher heart rates if needed.
Last week, I shadowed a cardiac surgery ICU nurse and live-tweeted her day in my ‘Day in the life of’ series for Providence/St. Paul’s.

There’s not many things in this world that could get me up at the crack of dawn, but being a part of Pan Pacific’s 28th annual Christmas Wish Breakfast did just that. It helps that I got to stay over at the hotel too.
Every year, the Pan Pacific holds its epic toy drive – one of the largest in Canada. Vancouverites are invited to come down and donate a new, unwrapped toy to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau, in order to make Christmas special for families in need. As a thank you, the hotel provides a complimentary, hot buffet breakfast on the house.
