Moist: Silver 25th Anniversary Tour Hits Vancouver

When Moist reunited and went on a cross-country tour in 2013, I was there. When Moist came out to my neck of the woods to play Hard Rock Casino in 2014, I was there.

So when Moist announced they would celebrate the 25th anniversary of their Silver album with a tour, hell yea, I was going to be there. And so did a couple thousand other people packing the dance floor at the sold out Commodore Ballroom. And these fans came to play.

Like rocking out so hard that it was challenging to make one’s way on to the floor, as the band played the album in its entirety. Everybody clearly loves the Silver album and was there to revel in its 90s nostalgia. We are Silver!

I remember going to see them play the entire album the first time around at the Town Pump in 1994. At that time, there was not even forty people there and if memory serves, there was barely a stage. The band was pretty much rocking out with us right on the floor. I remember when the band finished their set, they were chillin’ and having some beers. You could pretty much go up to them to chat. I did not because even though I loved their music, I was painfully shy and feeling all sorts of awkward about approaching. That’s what happens when you’re still feeling like an awkward teenager in your early 20s.

Anyhoodle…

Luckily for us (but mostly me), Moist also played songs from their most recent albums too. And like any Moist show, it was hella high energy, especially from David Usher, who always looks like he’s having fun connecting with the audience.

I could go on and on, waxing poetic about all the energy and fun watching these guys perform live, but I think from my many previously written posts, it’s clear. If you ever have an opportunity to see Moist (or David Usher by himself) in concert, just go and then you’ll understand why I’ve been a fan for 25 years. (and counting!)
