You’d think by these pictures, that Jonesy yearns to go outside and is always ready to go. On the contrary, she’ll run away, hide under the bed or meow her displeasure when we take get that harness out.

Now that it’s sunny and warm, Charlie wants to go outside as much as possible. He loves exploring the back and front yard, smelling the plant leaves, chomping on blades of grass and most of all, rolling around on the ground. He’s our little pigpen.

Do my eyes deceive me or is this Charlie and Jonesy sleeping up against each other?!

Well, wonders never cease! And it only took 17 months. A year and a half for Jonesy to come out of her shell, get used to Charlie and me, and realize that we were just not going to go away anytime soon.

She finally bit the bullet and plopped herself right next to Charlie. Jonesy’s been close before but never this close. She usually keep at least a foot of space between herself and Charlie. But she’s coming around!

AND it was I who got to see this first. Yay, as I’m always the one missing out on all the double kitty cuteness. It would bum me out whenever Sean emails me a pic of their rascal-y escapades. I wish i could work from home too. Especially since we now have double the furball fun.

Could licking on each other be far behind?

It warms my heart to know that no matter how old he gets, or how big, that Charlie still needs neck cuddles with his human. There are less frequent now that he’s an adult, so I’ll definitely take whatever I can get. Even if that means being immobilized by an 11 lbs kitty every now and then.

That is the life, isn’t it folks? All snuggled up, sleeping in a nice, tight ball on a bed of cushions. All while your humans are out there, toiling in traffic, making the cheddar and putting kibble in the bowl and a roof over your furry head. Suckers.

Charlie’s got himself a suh-weet deal. But I don’t begrudge him that. He is a cat, after all. Okay, maybe a little bit, but only when I get chipped away at by work and by life.

But it warms my black, black heart when I come home from work and he’s raced to the door (with Sean) to happily greet me, being his adorable self and purring like a race car engine.

Still, the day may come when he and Jonesy might not be living the carefree life they’ve grown accustomed to. We gotta put them to work and make that bank. No more free rides.

Everybody loves cat videos, right? Think we missed the boat on that one? Ha.
