Cats are so fickle and inconsistent sometimes. I thought Charlie had outgrown sleeping and neck cuddling with me, now that he’s made the towel basket in the bathroom linen closet his new favourite sleeping spot. I wistfully lamented to Sean that ‘my kitty no longer needs me.’
But then, Charlie surprised me after days and days, or rather nights and nights, away. He came back for neck cuddles with his human. Three times this morning, in fact. And although he woke me up from sleeping in on the weekend, I’m not going to complain. With cats being as changeable as they are, I’ll take what I can get.

Woke up this morning to this wonderful image. Jonesy, sitting serenely on the window bench at other side of our bedroom, greeting the new day.
She set the mood for my whole day and hopefully my year too.
This picture makes me happy. Jonesy and Charlie being comfortable enough with each other that they could eat so close together. Because not so long ago, Jonesy was like this when it came to Charlie. And let’s not forget this.
They’re not at the point of being best buds. They’re not grooming each other and they sleep in different rooms. That could be because Charlie keeps trying to hug/straddle/hump her, although they’re both fixed. Awww, he just wants to love his new bestie.
I am not a foodie, by any means. I have friends who will seek out new restaurants in order to try everything on the menu, the more unusual, the better. For example, chomping down on bone marrow at a hoity-toity restaurant. As for me, I enjoy food enough, but I am hardly experimental. A big part of it being that I’m a pescetarian. Almost 6 years now.
